Why Pinterest videos are hard to save
A Pinterest video pin is not a plain <video> file sitting at a guessable
address. The player is fed a list of renditions, and the app decides which one to stream based
on your screen and connection. Right-clicking gives you the player, not the file, and the app
offers no save option at all.
This downloader asks Pinterest for the pin record itself, reads the rendition list out of it and shows you every MP4 in one place. That is why you can deliberately choose 720p even if your phone was only ever streaming 480p.

Why is only a low resolution offered for some videos?
Pinterest only encodes the resolutions the uploader supplied. If a creator uploaded a 480p clip, no 720p version exists anywhere and no tool can invent one.
