What this tool actually does

Pinterest deliberately has no download button. Right-clicking a pin usually saves a down-scaled preview, and on mobile you cannot right-click at all. Screenshots throw away resolution and add whatever the interface happened to be covering.

This downloader takes a different route. It reads the pin the same way the Pinterest web app does, pulls the list of media files attached to that pin, and hands you the direct links. A single image pin normally exposes several sizes, and the one labelled Original is the untouched upload. A video pin usually exposes 240p through 720p or higher, and you pick whichever you want.

Because the file is streamed straight from Pinterest’s own CDN, the download is as fast as your connection allows and the bytes you receive are the bytes Pinterest stores. Nothing is re-encoded, resized or branded on the way through.

Where to find the link on each device

Pinterest app (Android & iPhone): open the pin, tap the share arrow, then tap Copy link. You will get a short pin.it URL, which this tool resolves automatically.

Desktop browser: open the pin so its URL looks like pinterest.com/pin/123456789/ and copy it from the address bar. You can also use the three-dot menu and choose Copy link.

From a board: a board URL is not a pin URL. Open the individual pin first, otherwise there is no single file to download.

Quality, formats and file sizes

Image pins come back as JPG or PNG, whichever the creator uploaded, in sizes that commonly run up to 2000 pixels or more on the long edge. Animated pins keep their GIF container so the animation survives. Video pins are MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio, which every phone, laptop and editing app opens without a codec pack.

If a pin lists more than one option, the buttons are sorted best-first. The leftmost red button is always the highest quality version available.
